My Favorite Skincare Products

Just about every day, at least once per day, someone tells me that I am glowing. People even ask me if I am pregnant because of the glow they see on my face. In addition to the joy and the peace that God gives me, I can attribute this glow to my skin care regime.

As I have previously mentioned, my aunt, who is like a second mother to me and who just so happens to be my neighbor, is a licensed esthetician. But not only is she an esthetician, she happens to be one of the best in Montgomery County, MD. Now  I know all my sistas out there have trouble finding someone who fully understands the science behind black skin, what we should and should not do to prevent oily skin as well as which products work best on our melanin skin, well, I am blessed to have her in my life. She knows my skin like the back of her hand. And she has introduced me to my favorite skincare product that I have been using for probably about eight years now. And let me tell you… No. Other. Product. Work. Like. This. One! It keeps me complexion nice, even, and clear. I still don’t have any wrinkles at the age of 36. And I haven’t lost any elasticity in my skin. *Insert a praise break.* What is this amazing skin care line you ask? It’s called Glo Therapeutics. Yes, honey chile. Glo! And it is the absolute best! They even have different options depending on what kind of skin you have. For instance, those of you who have drier skin will use something different from those of you who have oily skin.

I’ve included links in this article for the exact same products I use. If you are interested in purchasing them, feel free to click on the link and purchase them directly from Amazon.  (Disclaimer: I am an Amazon Affiliate and will make a small percentage for each of your purchases. )

Before you order…

You should know what kind of skin you have to ensure you are purchasing the option that will work best for you.  This may be a great time for you to schedule an appointment with an esthetician to get a facial and to have your skin examined.

Each of the products I have listed specify which type of skin they were created for so please read the labels carefully.

Lastly, I almost forgot to mention that based on professional advice I have received, no matter what, you should ALWAYS wash your face at night before you go to bed. If you think about it, as we are walking around throughout the day, our face is exposed to various elements such as pollution, smoke, fog, sweat, germs from our hands, etc. so you want to make sure you cleanse your face really well before bed. Studies have shown that while you are sleeping, your skin cells are reproducing. You want to aid that reproduction by ensuring that you are using a product that will give your face a deep cleaning.

Each of these items smell amazing and are light weight. They also last for about a month or so. Initially, you may think the products cost a little more than you are accustomed to, but my thing is, my face is the first thing people see. I would rather pay a little more money for a product that I know works and have a beautiful clear complexion than go the cheaper route and have uneven skin with breakouts. I suggest you try it just once. I believe you will be hooked. The products are just that good.

Sunscreen

For those of you who didn’t know, African Americans also need to use sunscreen as anyone, regardless of their nationality, can get skin cancer. I know for a fact because my aunt who is brown skinned and lacks no melanin just recently had skin cancer removed.

In case you weren’t aware, protecting your skin (especially your face) from the sun will aid in the prevention of wrinkles. Ensuring that you moisturize your face after each wash will also help prevent wrinkles.

Hello there! Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my blog. I really hope that you are able to benefit from it.

Just to give you a brief description of myself, I am a mother to an extremely intelligent and charismatic little boy, a wife to an amazing and talented man, a dancer, poet, motivator, influencer, part-time Zumba instructor, a vinyasa flow yoga feen, and an HR professional at a major global corporation. Just like most of you, I live a very busy life, which requires me to master exceptional time management skills, stick to strict schedules, and stay focused. In the midst of it all, I strive to keep myself together by perfecting my peace. Without it, my family and my colleagues would be in grave danger. Ok, maybe that is a bit extreme. Lol... let's just say it wouldn't be a good look.

In my blogs, you can expect to learn tricks and tips that can make your own day-to-day life a bit less hectic while managing to maintain your inner peace, and while looking fabulous all the while. 😉 Are you ready to perfect your peace?
